From December 8, 2006 until July 29, 2007 Speak Up will reside in the halls of the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum as part of its third triennial,

House of Pretty — welcomes museum dwellers to the world of Speak Up.

New York’s High Priority
Starting in November and ending in December, Speak Up ran a contest to design the High Priority illustration in the year-end double issue of
New York magazine.
200-plus entries later,
Spencer Fruhling won the
contest with his ode to fast food establishements, earning him $500 and a spot — usually reserved, by invitation only, for some of the best designers and illustrators across the globe — in the popular section of the magazine.

HOW Design Conference
For the
15th annual HOW Design Conference in Chicago, IL, Armin Vit participated in a blog panel moderated by Steven Heller. He was also a contestant in Ironic Chef where he beat the unsuspecting competitors.

The Push Pin Influence
New York’s AIGA chapter has gathered three designers, among them Armin Vit, who will talk about the influence that Push Pin has had over their professional path.
The Push Pin Influence will feature Seymour Chwast, Milton Glaser, Noreen Morioka, Paula Scher and Martin Venezky and will be moderated by Steven Heller.

Thinking with Type
In Ellen Lupton’s new book,
Thinking with Type, published by Princeton Architectural Press, Speak Up is highlighted as a positive example of web hierarchy.
