Entry Preparation
1. Delivery Method Options
This year we are encouraging electronic submissions over mailed entries but it is ultimately your decision.
A) Electronic Upload Option
Through the online submission process you will be able to input all information and upload PDFs with your work.
important
There is a cost associated with this, as we will still print out your entry. But you are saving money on shipping, especially helpful for international entrants. Printing charges are applied during checkout.
Cost per page (in US$)
$0.30 for Letter/A4
$0.50 for Tabloid/A3
Entry labels are generated automatically in the back-end, you do not need to do anything with those.
B) Mail-In Option
After completing the online submission process you are responsible for printing and mailing your entry. Address is on the right sidebar.
Entry labels generated by the online form must be clipped, stapled, taped, or bound to the back of each entry facing out.
2. Presentation and Formatting by Category
DO NOT identify your name or your design firm’s name anywhere on the materials.
Logos
In a single Letter/A4 sheet present your logo.
Tabloid/A3 is not acceptable in this category.
If mailing: Do not mount.
You may include a “Before” image if applicable. Identify it appropriately.
You may include full color and single color versions of the logo or different lock-up combinations. They must fit in the single sheet.
Logo and Identity Animations
Files must be able to play back on a Mac.
Acceptable formats: MP4, MPEG, MOV, or M4V.
Resolution must be at least 640 × 480 for standard definition and 1280 × 720 for high definition.
If mailing: Label CD or DVD with order and entry number generated by the online form (i.e., order23_entry30).
Basic Identity Applications
In no more than 3 sheets (Letter/A4 or Tabloid/A3) present your logo and a maximum of three additional identity applications.
If mailing: Staple, clip, or clamp.
The applications — like stationery, communication materials, packaging, location-specific applications, or large applications (i.e., the logo on a bus) — are to be presented through photographs. Renderings are not acceptable.
If mailing: You have the option to submit actual samples.
Comprehensive Identity Programs
In as many sheets (Letter/A4 or Tabloid/A3) as you need prepare a case study that presents all the elements of the identity.
If mailing: Bind or clamp, do not send loose.
Photographs that demonstrate the program in execution are encouraged. Renderings are acceptable.
Guideline Documents
Submit a maximum of 24 sample pages (Letter/A4 or Tabloid/A3). Do not send the complete document (to avoid paper waste).
If mailing: Bind or clamp, do not send loose.
Unconventional Guidelines (i.e., a poster) are acceptable. Send actual piece. Photographs are not accepted.
