Approach

In the beginning my goal was to create something tasteful and animated for travelers flying to Jamaica. I wanted to embody the color, spirit, and culture and still be competitive amidst other airlines servicing the Caribbean.

The inspiration behind the redesign became the iridescent “doctor bird,” Jamaica’s national bird and relative to the hummingbird family. Its color, shape, and personified spirit would become the focal point for the airline as a whole.

The gold represents the sun, the black represents the strength and spirit of the people, and the green represents the richness of the land. One cannot function without the other. Together these colors make and define the history of Jamaica as it stands today.
