Every laptop looks pretty much the same, until someone like Chris comes along providing a unique alternative.

My choice to screen-print these skins was motivated by the process as much as the finished result. I wanted to achieve a surface that has a smooth yet tactile quality: screen-printed vinyl has ink-feel. Choosing this technique also gave me the possibility to play with spot colors, transparency, and overprinting.

On a more technical note:

I work with an ink manufacturer in Belgium and their 11-color Pantone mixing system for the Pantone C series.� Skins are hand cut on a Dahle 130 and contour plotted with a Roland GX-24 and printed on 3M ControlTac vinyl.

A pretty sweet way to quickly identify your computer from all the others at the local cafe.
