There is no avoiding the recent shift that annual reports have undergone due to both economic circumstances and technological advances. In an area where budgets are quickly diminishing, and page counts are slashed more often than not, it is refreshing to find a simple and evocative solution such as what Pentagram designed for DRK Kliniken Berlin.
With the limited use of three inks, red black and silver, a smooth uncoated sheet of paper and an array of illustrations the report evokes a strong voice and a unique personality. Wishing I could understand the text held within, I am captured by the visual interpretations of each message, wondering exactly how a row boat relates to apples, to a square and a rose…
Beautifully crafted, and exquisitely printed I am happy to have a copy in our archives.
More information about the project can be found on Pentagram's web site.

M mmmmmmmm.
Their work always makes me happy.
That is really lovely and quiet.
I love this.
However, Jeff, there's a reason there is no W or U in 'PENTAGRAM'. They suck at the Web and Usability.
Its the report of an hospital but the depiction is truely artificial.
A rowboat to depict "Wetteifern und Kooperieren" which is "compete and cooperate" in German, "unity and variety" shown at leafs...
hope I could help.
Greetings from Germany
I know this seems like a silly question but I just want to be sure. 3000 copies at €9000 production cost = €3 / copy for this level of quality. If that's right, then I've been getting totally ripped off here.
Looks like a lovely book
