Mauro Pastore, who was also involved with the Boldrocchi Centenary Book, also developed the identity and business card for the main photographer of the book: Matteo Gastel.
Matteo Gastel is a fashion and life style fotographer, active in New York and Milan. His capacity to see beyond things, an absolutey essential characteristic for a good photographer, constitutes the basic concept of this business card.
Now, you might be wondering what is going on with the business card and what does "heat" from the Print Method field actually mean, and I will be the first to admit it took me a little while to figure it out. It turns out that this particular paper becomes partially transparent when heated and embossed--and so the visual and tactile impact directly relates to the work and approach of this bi-continent photographer.

Comments
At first glance this looks awful, is there any reason to position the lines that closely? Combine that with pure embossing and it's practically unreadable.
On second glance maybe you just need to reduce the compression on these images.
Yeah, not totally sure this one's a winner. The text creates an interesting geometric interaction, but for the most part it's just difficult to read.
Hi everybody, it's just a problem of the image compression, I can grant you that the printed version is absolutely readable. Please check the hi-res image at http://www.cacaodesign.it/download/gastel.jpg
OK, after lots of poking around we figured out how to fix the images. Hope this helps.
Very unique effect. I would be interested to know the name of the stock used. Was the embossing die itself for the name "MATTEO GASTEL" heated, or was the heat applied after embossing? All of the other lines are embossed too, but they are not partially transparent.
