Keen viewers will quickly notice that this is a 2007 Annual Report, meaning it was designed in 2008, meaning we are breaking our own policy of keeping things current but, let’s face it, it’s not everyday that we receive a project that you can plant in your backyard (or in your windowsill garden). Chris Jones from Popcorn Initiative explains:

The concept behind this piece was to highlight the amount of growth the Kissimmee Utility Authority had experienced so we felt that having a belly band that could be planted was appropriate.

For this biologic belly band, Popcorn Initiative turned to Porridge Papers, who specialize in custom- and hand-made papers, to create the paper that comes embedded with wildflower seeds. So after you are done with the annual report, you simply moisten the paper and plant it. The rest of the annual report is handsomely printed on a nice coated stock that is peppered with green bursts of illustration that are spot varnished to glow off the page — you can’t plant those, though.
