Hascher Jehle Arcitecktur in Berlin, Germany has been creating gorgeously simple buildings since 1992, when it was founded. Last year, the German publisher Prestel published an equally gorgeous book titled Hascher Jehle Architektur: Thoughts and Buildings / Gedanken und Bauten showcasing exactly what the book says. The design team at Thomas Manss & Company divided, literally, the book in two. One book devoted to the work and the other to the thinking behind it. The soft cover books are then wrapped within a hard cover case that opens up to allow looking at the two together. It’s one of those ideas that we all have at some point, as in “Wouldn’t it be totally awesome if we did two books in one?”, but as soon as we realize the cost and production hardships it would entail we simply shrug it off as a dream production.
