We’ve had our share of self-promos here on FPO, but I don’t think we have showcased a project that was an extension from a student project—but now in the very grown up real world.
This poster is inspired by and a follow-up to my final master project at Kingston University Communication Design course, “Misspent: The Book”. The concept behind each project is the same: Informing people about the huge amount of money we spend each year to specific industries and what could be done with just a fraction of it. But because the area in the poster is limited I focused on the first objective. Although this is a promotional item, I didn’t want people to look at it and understand it at once. The aim was to create an interest at first and to provide the engaging detail later so that each time someone looks at the poster he would see something new.
This is the kind of project that can really get you noticed with potential employers or prospective clients—you get to show your personality and point of view, and your ability to complete and produce a project.
