We all love evil things turned cute — probably why we all love Steve Jobs in his boyish black turtlenecks and 8-year-old-boy sneakers — so it’s no surprise that this series of posters featuring menacing, mysterious and legendary monsters in adorable renditions already sold out a first edition. I mean, seriously, wouldn’t you want to have Nessie there in a goldfish bowl only to watch it grow to the size of an Olympic pool? Yes, I thought so. Ringmaster Alex Pearson of Familytree explains:

The purpose was really just to create something cool. I had created a “friendly” Giant Squid illustration for a friend last year, and thought it could easily turn into a series. Instead of doing all the art myself, I found three other great illustrators to collaborate with (two fresh out of college). We used Basecamp to send sketches and ideas back and forth, which really helped me to set a tone for the series, and all of us to be inspired by each other.

Shown below are the sold-out green and red posters. The blue and red posters for sale are likely equally delicious.
