Not every project ends where it was intended to end nor in the way it was meant to exist. Alex Fuller started with a client-driven project, and ended up with a promotional poster. Here’s how it happened.
I’m calling it a self-promo but it was in fact a proposed poster concept for a client that was not chosen. The client produces music related apparel, specifically for vinyl collectors. I loved the drawing too much to just let it fade away in the abyss that is my external hard drive. Plus, it took me 6 hours to draw the darn thing. I found a way to do a small offset run with a local printer. Luckily, it was a hit and i made my money back in about 3 weeks.
This project was a great learning experience. If you love a concept, never let it die. Too often good work gets rejected and disappears — just make something from it!
This sure is a handsome poster for anyone to display, musical tastes aside.
