I am beginning to think that most designers like to silkscreen or wish they could. In the end those who do need to tackle their first time in the best possible way they can—they might ask experienced friends to help, or figure things out by the seat of their pants. In any case, the sense of accomplishment that comes from concept to finished product is unlike any other.

To promote The Awful Truth on his upcoming tour. The concept is that there’s this one dude heading out on tour to face whatever happens. It’s an exciting/scary feeling and I tried to capture that by illustrating him as a lone fox facing the mountains.

This is my first silkscreen ever. I had several problems in the beginning, (ink in places I didn’t want, messy type) but mainly it came down to getting a good screen to start with. After that everything became easy.
