Mrs. Eaves
Memoir

I’d imagine planning a wedding to be extremely stressful and time consuming, let alone designing and putting together all of the printed materials. Melissa must have the most organized planner known to man, and like eight arms.

The purpose of the pieces included in the wedding invitation package was to convey a one-of-a-kind wedding with influences from the designer (the bride) everywhere you look. I wanted to convey that there are so many ways to bring out your personality by putting creative touches on even the seemingly simplest of things.

For example, I try to bring in different elements that add a fine artist’s touch to all of my projects. For this project, I individually wrapped 130 save the dates, invitations and each table number with thread and raffia, all by hand. It was time-consuming, and I loved every second of it! Our guests knew how much heart I had put into the elements, and it made the wedding even more special.

Pieces include save the dates, invites, reply cards, accommodation cards, thank you cards, envelope label wraps, customized postage, programs, wine labels, escort tags, menu signs and table numbers.

I think the most challenging thing about this project was selecting the concept as a whole. We all know that the hardest person to design for is yourself. But out of the millions (or what seemed like millions) of concepts I came up with, this one was by far the most fitting for us as a couple and for me as a designer. I wouldn’t have changed a thing!
