The extreme sports industry has notoriously been in a love triangle with graphic design and style. This piece uses simple graphic elements in harmony with breathtaking action photos. When thinking about this stuff, and very appropriately, the only word that comes to mind is “cool.” Specially that extreme embossed cover. And the stitching. And the label. And…
SIA is a trade association primarily known as the host of the snow sports industry’s largest trade show. Though the industry didn’t realize it, SIA offers member benefits and resources far beyond the trade show. The goal of this piece was to create a single source that not only told members what was available to them, but explained how SIA resources could be used to benefit their business. As such, the book is as much guidebook and catalog as it is an overview of the organization.
What ever you estimate from a timing standpoint… add 2 weeks. And, it always helps to have access to the photo libraries of some of the biggest brands in the snow sports industry to add that little something extra to the piece.
