More projects should be inspired by Italian olive oil tins as this small simple invitation, printed silkscreen proves. Nice use of overlays and nice job on the trimming with that thin border.
When co-worker Owen asked me to come up with a simple wedding invitation for him and his partner based on the antique Italian olive oil tins that they would be using as table centrepieces, I jumped at the chance. We had originally wanted to get the invitations letterpressed, but when that proved to be beyond the client’s budget, I suggested screen printing, which is quick, relatively cheap and would maintain the hand-crafted quality that we were looking for.
