Employing novel folding techniques, bold color, and smart composition, ACP’s recent informational brochure goes against the grain — literally and figuratively. Inviting us to take a look at the Centre through a different lens, this piece takes each reader on a unique journey from panoramic to macro.
By using an innovative fold, we were able to incorporate the centre’s Exhibitions, Events and Creative Learning information, all into a single sheet of paper. The end result is an intriguing brochure that unfolds in three stages, encouraging active participation through a discovery experience.
We discovered that folding a single sheet of paper in two directions can cause issues with bulging as you are folding against the grain. Also with text running across the folds, we wanted to ensure there was no cracking in the print. We made fine adjustments to the knife and the stock to minimise this. It took a brave printer to take the job on board as all brochures must be meticulously hand folded. In the end it was all worth it as the brochure has worked extremely well for the client.
