Gill Sans is all grown-up in this bold yet understated type treatment — reminding us all that the occasional Manhattan, alone, in a dark basement bar is not only acceptable, it’s sophisticated. With the sensual company of pewter paper and gold foil, who needs a date?

For Fox, an underground bar, we embraced a deep color palette on its business card. Sophisticated but not gaudy. To hint at the bar being downstairs we’ve gone with a portrait orientation card. We printed Gill Sans Shadow in black on Neenah Classic Crest pewter paper, then drew an in-line typeface printed in gold foil to respond to the lighting in the bar.
