There’s a fine line between love and hate in this holiday card from Mike and Shaun. Brothers, friends, foes, or lovers? Either way, the portrait leaves a deep impression.

After our roommate took a photograph that felt reminiscent of boxing posters from the 1950s, we took the idea and used it as a personal Holiday greeting card for friends and family.

We wanted a deep impression to help evoke the feeling of older and (unintentionally) de-bossed letterpress posters. Because of the fine lines in parts of the design, a very tedious balance of packing was required to create a deep impression but not lose the fine lines. This was the most time consuming process, as the packing in cylinder presses is not as easy as C&P presses.
