Each year, Creative Suitcase donates 5% of its profits to a worthy cause. Last year’s choice charity was Ripples of Hope for Children, a non-profit helping provide young people with the basic building blocks of life: healthcare, education and support. Creative Suitcase created their own punch and play version of the ubiquitous, childhood toy, and a whimsical instructional video to match.

Project Description

Many children miss out on the basic building blocks of life: healthcare, education and support. Every year we donate 5% of our profits to a non-profit organization or charity. Last year, we chose to give to Ripples of Hope for Children, a non-profit organization giving kids the help and services they need for success. To commemorate this donation, we sent out a building block of our own with embossed, hand-crafted letters, a unique perforated die, and a message inspired by the spirit of giving.

Production Lesson(s)

Through this process we learned some of the challenges with making perforated dies. Perhaps we should have done more research on the many varieties of teeth used, so that we could have been more informed when sending it off to the die-maker. The first time it came back, the perfs were so course that the piece was near impossible to punch out without ripping it. We had to send the entire die back to be remade with finer teeth. Hey, live and learn right?”
