Tara Baker’s mostly black and white numerology inspired self-promotion piece builds upon itself as the numbers increase but always, as the title suggests, comes back to one.

Project Description

I put together this publication which commemorates the numbers one through ten and their significance in math, history, and science. I wanted to convey the idea of numbers building on one another, so I included a numerical timeline at the bottom of each spread and a shape surrounding the heading that becomes more complex as the numbers increase. A bold color palette was paired with sophisticated typography to convey a fun, but educational aesthetic.

Production Lesson(s)

Though my production process was limited because I was a student, my plan, if these were ever to be produced on a large scale, was to varnish the cover and the dots highlighting the current number on each spread.”
