Project Description

Introducing the 2013 Robot Calendar! A limited edition poster-style calendar featuring 12 original monthly-themed robot characters. Illustrated in collaboration with Justin Mezzell each calendar is a 16-by-24-inch, 4-color screenprint that is hand numbered in a limited edition run of 200.

Each robot character in the calendar is illustrated and inspired by a common theme associated with the month it represents. For example, November is a Robot Turkey for Thanksgiving and also simply because a robot turkey is awesome. Holidays of each month are highlighted with circles and a full annual list is at the bottom for reference.

Production Lesson(s)

This beauty was a beast! We really wanted the slabs of full coverage to shine in all their candy-coated glory, but at the same time had to gingerly treat some very delicate knockout type on the same screen. File prep was no joke as each robot's color profile took full advantage of the project's palette.”
