I’ve seen construction workers make notes and write phone numbers on pieces of leftover materials they picked up around the site. So, perhaps it is a natural extension to design a stamp for printing business cards on leftover wood for a cabinet maker. It’s not everyday someone hands you a block of wood for a business card, so these are sure to leave a memorable impression.

Project Description

Brad Haniak, journeyman cabinet maker and owner of BDH Millwork, needed a business card. He also had a budget smaller than an acorn. Not letting fiscal woes get in our way, we came up with the solution of stamping Brad's info onto leftover wood he had lying around from past cabinetry jobs. Forty dollars later, Brad has the best looking (and smelling) business card this side of the Everglades.

Production Lesson(s)

These wooden business cards, at 0.25" in thickness, take up a lot more room than the conventional paper kind. Getting a thicker wallet to house them is advised. Or a pair of carpenter pants—you can never have too many pockets.”
