The identity and print system for RISD Senior Week 2012 features graphics inspired by ribbons and doorways. Ribbons are a reference to new beginnings and ribbon-cutting ceremonies, and the doorways—as points of entry and exit—symbolize graduating seniors exiting academia and entering the “real word.” The vibrant color scheme and dynamic composition give these pieces extra energy without distracting from the informative content.

Project Description

Identity and print system for RISD Senior Week, 2012. Branding inspiration came from the tradition of new beginnings and ribbon cutting. The poster series featured numerous doorways around the school campus to pay homage to the notion of doorways as both a place of exit and entrance.

Production Lesson(s)

In designing the identity system and promotional materials for the RISD Senior Week careful consideration had to be taken in regards to maintaining legibility with reverse type. Several color variations had to be attempted to ensure proper clarity.”
