Observations
Same as the two prior years: we were hoping for a few more entries but, at 275 submissions, we stayed within the same range as the first two awards. Given the high quality of entries, though, this feels like a perfect niche competition that we are happy to keep going.

This year we saw a steep decline in wedding invitation submissions but an increase in coasters, so make of that what you will! The strongest category this year was Offset. It’s usually Mix. So it was nice to see some straight-up offset work getting some attention from designers and printers. The Silkscreen category was much stronger than last year with some really good posters in the mix.

Overall, there were no other surprises. The work was very strong across all categories and we look forward to next year’s submissions.

Special Awards
One Best of Show was awarded, two heatedly-discussed Radical Production Awards were given, and a Sustainability Award was also handed out — a nice bit of news since last year there wasn’t one.

Next Steps
We will be working on producing the annual in the next four to five months. This year we will again publish a book and paid-access website.
