For these golf themed wedding invitations designer/groom, Paul Cronin, wanted to infuse a lot of personality but maintain the tradition of a wedding invitation. The variety of cards are based off of golf score cards, and use tartans and iconography similar to traditional golf imagery.

Project Description

For our wedding invitations I wanted to infuse as much personality as possible. We are having a golf theme, so I created a dieline that resembles a golf scorecard, and a graphic that connects the game to the history of our families. I tried to make it fun and engaging, but not to far away from the traditional look and feel of a wedding invitation. I also wanted our guests to feel a personal connection to us, so I designed a rubber stamp to be hand applied to the back of each envelope.

Production Lesson(s)

When I set out designing these invitations, I had Pantone colours and offset printing in mind. The cost was beyond our budget and I thought that my vision would be killed by digital printing. But working with my printer (and luckily having a colour palette that transfers easily to digital), the final printed piece is something that I'm really proud of. And I wont be so quick to dismiss digital as an option in the future.”
