For these posters, Thomas Bradley composed custom typography from geometric patters reminiscent of Teva’s Original Universals. The kinetic energy created from juxtaposing the various patterns reflects the verbal concept of living better stories in a motivational way, and the DIY feel of a screen printed poster echoes the “get your hands dirty” spirit.

Project Description

Teva approached me to design a limited edition poster for their friends and family to help celebrate their 30 year anniversary. Once my custom type layout was approved, I set to work painstakingly building the letterforms and negative space out of geometric patterns and shapes reminiscent of the iconic nylon webbing that made me always want a pair of their Original Universals. Eventually landscapes began emerging. Triangles turned into trees, rectangles became skyscrapers, and numerous stories brought the poster to life.

Production Lesson(s)

Since I had never tried to make something this complex, I underestimated the amount of time it would take to complete the design and had to push back on the deadline multiple times. Also color decisions were a group effort between the print shop, the art director and I. I'm fairly positive this was a rather difficult poster to register, but you'd have to check with Justin about that.”
