In grad school, my professors would always say, “Make more!” after every critique. If you keep producing work, you’ll get through the obvious junk to the creative gold glittering beneath the surface. This Mohawk newsletter, manifesto, and cooperative publication are aimed at makers of all kinds, sharing that same inspiring message while being evidence of successful iteration itself. Founded in 1931, Mohawk continues to evolve and explore, innovating paper and the way we interact with it.

Project Description

Hybrid Design conceptualized and designed a new 2013 corporate campaign for Mohawk. The “Mohawk Maker” campaign is designed to support the idea of “makers” from every aspect; artisans, printers, small manufacturers, designers and artists alike. Those who are continue to craft in this digital revolution.

Production Lesson(s)

Three publications were designed to speak to all communities of makers: The Mohawk Declaration of Craft, the Mohawk Maker Quarterly, and the Mohawk Cooperative. Each designed to talk directly to it’s audience (manufacturers, designers, and printers respectively), and connect them together.”
