Project Description

As part of a larger University of Hartford branding effort, national branding agency 160over90 conceptualized and created a graphic, multi-format viewbook that artistically conveys prospective students' journey of personal growth.

Visible through its clear-wrap envelope, the viewbook features a colorful, tiered cover that's representative of the University of Hartford experience: different at every turn. Both the book construct and the story content begin with a singular, narrow point of focus that physically expands, much as students' frame of reference and field of opportunity grows exponentially over the course of a Hartford education.

Truly, the viewbook—like the University of Hartford— is distinctive by design.

Production Lesson(s)

One of the main things I learned during this project was the value of using a UV printer. Working with UV ink and a UV printer can really change the brilliance of the color and the detail of the images.  It's much more vibrant and the colors really pop.  After using this type of printer (for the first time), I realized value as the detail of the work was visibly enhanced. Not only does this improve the color of the print, UV printing can also reduce the length of time it takes to execute a job.  An added benefit when printing a larger number of assets.  Moving forward, when applicable, UV printing will certainly be my recommendation for print projects.”
