Project Description

All part of my strategy of making cool shit until someone pays me to.

I'm moving from Lexington, Kentucky to Boston next month and decided to make something to either sell enough of to help with that move or use as a self-promotional piece to send out to creative/art directors once I get into the city.

I've been interested in using screen printing as an outlet for some personal illustration work for awhile and finally worked up enough after-work motivation to start getting it done.

Production Lesson(s)

I pulled a one-color last year with a little in-apartment setup of mine but most of my ideas are just beyond my current level of skill or equipment. I brought in the experts at Mama's Sauce in Orlando, Florida to help me go all out with a 5-color design including a metallic overprint. I was really stoked with the outcome. I lost a little more detail than I expected from the dotgain on the dark brown screen but I was hoping to learn some little things like that. Honestly, I should've known better but I reduced the size of the whole piece in the production phase and didn't really think about it.”
