Printing

Industry Print Shop

When I saw Debbie’s artwork I knew it would be perfect for printing on mirror paper as it had heavy ink coverage but lots of gaps where you could see your reflection. It’s a metaphor for “having to work hard to find your own awesomeness” or it’s just a piece of reflecting paper with the word “awesome” on it a bunch of times. Either way, it’s one of the coolest production tricks we’ve pulled with this poster series so we are pretty happy with it. You can buy a copy here

Project Description

Commemorative poster designed on the occasion of Debbie Millman speaking at the Austin Initiative of Graphic Awesomeness on October 15, 2014. Speakers are invited to design the poster in whatever way they choose as long as it says "Awesome" somewhere.

Production Lesson(s)

Mohawk's Chromolux is cheaper than Kromekote's equivalent. The sample in Mohawk's little swatchbook looked a little mottled but the effect is pretty much gone in the actual sheet.”
