Project Description

My wife designer Jessica Carpenter and I always wanted to own a traditional Otomi Indian Mexican textile. We love the way they repeat and connect imagery in such a creative way.  We had a hard time finding one we could afford so we decided to collaborate and design our own interpretation of the textile. Currently we have 3 prints in the Field Print series all inspired by the traditional Otomi mexican textiles we love. All three of the Field Prints are available in red, blue and metallic gold.

Production Lesson(s)

One of the biggest challenges of this piece was maintaining simplicity. We knew we wanted to use just 1 color so we really focused on form and simplicity of form so the object would read and be able to be screen printed well.”
