Project Description

This was part of a winter woodland wedding shoot set in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California. The thought behind this shoot was rustic woodland with gold accents and a cozy and warm feel behind it all. To encompass the comfy feeling of the venue, the menus were printed on a soft, light linen. The design was handcrafted to mirror rustic simplicity to highlight the beauty and intimacy of the event.

Production Lesson(s)

The cloths' thinness was the biggest concern. I had to troubleshoot how to run it through the printer without the fabric moving or the print head striking frays in the thread and creating smears. Adhering the fabric to a stiffer substrate with a removable adhesive was the solution. This gave the piece a way to go through the printer with no further problems and I was also able to remove without any residue left behind. All ends of the menus were frayed by hand for an unrefined effect. Both extensive and intricate but well worth it for this short and special run.”
