Project Description

I was tasked with creating an annual report for the Austin-based LifeWorks organization that would be sent out to donors, volunteers, staff, and be used in public settings like conferences and special events.

With a colorful palette, the design of the annual report sought to express the positive growth of the youth and young adults in the organization's programs over the course of the year.  The design also gave an opportunity to strongly feature the mission of the organization with large, cross-over typography.

Production Lesson(s)

One of the production difficulties with this project is the large, cross-over typography and imagery in the spreads.  I wanted each spread to be as seamless as possible and not show any content from other pages in the gutter and that can be a difficult thing to execute. To do this, the printer had to be very precise when binding the book together so that the spreads joined seamlessly.”
