Project Description

Collaboration between Portland artists BT Livermore and Michael Buchino, combining our shared love for bikes, screen printing, French pop, psychedelic 60s poster art.

Production Lesson(s)

The entire process was unique to me: I often work alone, and my roll in collaborations is typically as art director.

After BT and I set aside time to work together, our biggest challenge was coming up with something to work on. We hadn't set any parameters at first, but within five minutes we figured out what we wanted to do: a bike poster! Within another half hour we figured out the style we wanted to employ. From there, divvying up duties happened organically (is it always that easy?).

The big take-away was that collaborations are really fun. BT and I have admired each other's work for the better half of a decade and hadn't attempted a project like this yet. Methinks this is the first of many. (And we'd love to collaborate with others, so drop a line if you're interested!)”
