Phoenix designer and letterer Scott Biersack pays homage to British historical crime drama and Netflix original series Peaky Blinders in his hypothetical whiskey brand named for mob boss and main character Tommy Shelby. For a mock-up, this has high drama itself.

Project Description

I'm completely obsessed with the new hit Netflix series, Peaky Blinders. So much that I decided to design and develop an entire whiskey brand around the main character of the show, Tommy Shelby. Everything from the label, to the box, the wax seal and beyond was all created and pieced together by myself for a class project. This is indeed a fictional product and is in no way purchasable. Sorry in advance!

Production Lesson(s)

I laser cut and etched the entire box that contains the alcohol. Through the process of trial and error I discovered the correct depth and power settings to use to allow the lettering and type to still be visible when stained. This entire project was a learning process for me because I've never designed packaging before. I made many life-size mockups with the printed label, box, and even attempted hand-sealing the bottles with wax as well. It took a good amount of time to get it all right, but it was certainly worth it.”
