Kellogg’s is seeking to take legal action against the Maya Archaeology Initiative (MAI), a nonprofit that defends indigenous Maya culture, claiming “that the use of a toucan in its logo infringes on Kellogg’s Toucan Sam character and games.” Further, “Kellogg’s also expressed concern that the initiative’s logo uses Mayan imagery, ‘given that our character is frequently depicted in that setting.’” Dumbasses.
