Qs / Vol. 14 / February 11 - February 17

The top 15 out of a 28-quip week.

A = Authors | C = Community

C / No. 20 / Diane Zerr / Do you live in one of the favorite cities for creatives? HOW lists the top three cities for creatives.

A / No. 31 / Armin / Not the first street poster campaign to use a die-cut, but this one for t-shirt company freshcotton is pretty ingenious. [Via Evasee]

A / No. 37 / Armin / Introducing Pepsi Raw. No kidding.

A / No. 30 / Armin / An alternative to the pervasive puppy calendar: The Negative Calendar.

A / No. 29 / Joe Marianek / Ya no sé qué hacer conmigo is rocking a hearty slab-serif. [Thanks to Emiliano Ortiz]

C / No. 29 / Niki / Nothing we don’t already know, but nice to see it on a business site. Why Graphic Design is the Worst Brand Ever.

A / No. 27 / Armin / Best graphic design book ever?: Publicity and Graphic Design in the Chemical Industry, a 1967 book oozing Swissness.

A / No. 26 / Armin / This is awesome: A behind the scenes look at the opening animation that appeared before a movie on HBO during the 80s — a time when a Mac, much less After Effects or Final Cut, did not exist. [Via Nice Fucking Graphics]

C / No. 31 / Plamen / Times New Roman, Arial and Comic Sans have something to tell you.

A / No. 24 / Armin / Few things are more annoying than trying to exit the subway while some doofus impatiently walks into the car first. Maybe a simple graphic design exercise would solve the problem.

A / No. 35 / Bryony / Note to designers: When doing image searches, make sure you select the right result, specially when there are a few “Flatiron Buildings” around the world.

A / No. 36 / Armin / Advertising agencies, their own slogans and what those say about them. “Brutal simplicity of thought” anyone?

A / No. 27 / Armin / Print magazine has started a 2008 Election Graphics Flickr pool.

C / No. 22 / S. Harley-Mills / never has a doorway been so much fun.

C / No. 15 / Whaleroot / Making dreams come true for families and creating nightmares for designers.
