Introducing First Round Case Studies

We are excited to introduce a new option to explore first round presentations and launch what will hopefully be a growing library of these elusive files: Case Studies!

If this is your first time hearing about First Round, it’s a one-day showcase of original presentations made to clients showing initial design explorations for logo, identity, and branding projects. We started this event in 2018 in New York and have replicated it in Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, San Francisco, and Portland and we were set to do eight of them in 2020, then in 2021, and now we will have to wait until 2022 as we just postponed all of them. So…

High-res PDFs

While nothing beats the live presentations of our in-person events — which we are hoping to resume in 2022 — we have devised a PDF format that brings you every slide of the first round presentation with annotations from the designers, pro tips from us, and insightful Q&As that set up the context, goals, and approach for each project.

Inaugural case studies

We are launching with four case studies from some of our 2018 and 2019 events:

JFK Terminal 4 by Base Design
Farmer’s Fridge by Mucca
Royal Thai by Matchstic
Saint Kate by One Design Company

Access to each case study is $12 or you can get all four for $40.

Brand New subscribers: watch for an email with a code for a small discount on these.

Additionally, there is a fifth case study — our own first round for Cardinal Stage — that can be accessed for free so that you can get a preview of how each case study is formatted.

We hope you enjoy these and find them valuable!

Have one of your own?

Do you have a similar first round case study you would like to share and made available to designers through UnderConsideration? We are looking to create a comprehensive library of first round case studies and would love to see what you have to offer. Send us an email! Revenue from sales of your presentation is shared with you so this could be a modest source of income.
