Images (opinion after)
We've published a number of Globo-related projects and if there is one thing we've learned is that they love their textures and full-on renderings. Recently they've been moving away from chrome finishes to 2001-iPod white plastic-ey finishes. The publishing arm is the latest to get the treatment and while it's a cleaner interpretation of the previous one it's still not an aesthetic I completely subscribe too. I kind of like looking at it for a few minutes but that's it. What's clear though is that both of the previous iterations lost the idea that the icon represented pages and when that was abstracted in 2010 there was no further reference to that idea. It became a somewhat random… thing. The wordmark… I am guessing has some equity because there is nothing worth keeping about it. The one image showing prototype applications isn't very encouraging and the graphics have no relationship to the logo. Overall, okay on the icon, not okay on anything else.
