Our flickering handdrawn neon logo captures the eclectic-electric energy of the show and comes in 3 colors. […] We managed to shoot everything in one night with LED bikes, a Lowrider, and a Pixelstick setting an eclectic visual tone for this experimental new show.

If this feels like old news a little bit — as the show with its new host premiered in March — it's my fault. I've been meaning to post about it but somehow it got buried in my list. James Corden replaced Craig Ferguson as the host of CBS's late-late-night talk show and, luckily, took the old logo out of rotation. The thick-serifed, showbill-ish typography wasn't too terrible but that script surely was and the whole thing was too complex. The new logo does something completely different than all other late- and late-late-night logos by breaking the typographic monotony through the neon lettering. It's still all type like the rest but this gives it a great burst of color and texture while placing emphasis on the shorthand name for the show, Late Late. The show's open keeps playing with light and has a great party vibe, a catchy tune, and Reggie Watts' smile.
