The previous logo was quite casual for a payment company, and it had some funky bezier curves going, even for handwritten script standards. The new logo makes much more sense for this kind of company, giving it a solid, corporate feel. It's not a groundbreaking logo and the simple "i" to "i" connection is enough to give the wordmark some conceptual relevance.
