Established in 2009, Quirky brings inventors’ ideas to life and to market through an open process where community members provide ideas, which are then voted on, and each week the top five are discussed by the Quirky team to see which ones they’ll develop. They have launched over 300 products — from flexible power strips to egg yolk separators — that are sold online and across nearly 200 retail partners.

Quirky seems to have commitment issues as the last logo was designed two years ago replacing a logo designed two years earlier. Tune back in 2017 for the next Quirky logo. Hopefully not because this is a keeper. Quirky is all about collaboration and making connections so the ampersand is a nice metaphor for it. The execution is quite lovely as well, resulting in a "Q&" monogram that I never would have imagined could be a thing. The ampersand also looks like a person working (head plus really long arm stretched down…) but maybe I'm just pushing it. There is no Quirky wordmark in sight but if there was you can count on it being typeset in Circular, which is what the whole website is using. Overall, a great (r)evolution from the previous logo that felt a bit childish.
Thanks to Jared Granger for the tip.
