Betsy Wall, marketing director of the Rhode Island Commerce Corp., “agreed” to resign after Rhode Island’s logo and tagline caused a stir from its botched launch that included a promotional video that showed stock footage of a skateboarder in Iceland. The tagline has been pulled, money has been refunded, and mea culpas have been issued. Also: From the $4.5 million budget to create and implement the new branding, Milton Glaser, Inc. was paid $400,000 for the logo. I’m all for the proper valuation and rewarding of our work but that’s a little extreme for a logo — especially that logo. Visit link
