guidelines
ASSIGNMENTThis was a semester long project where we were to select an existing brand and completely redesign everything. The end product was a corporate standards manual that would include all our new brand guidelines. Before doing thumbnail sketches we heavily researched the company and learned anything and everything about the company and their competitors. Then came the logo design, stationery, website, collateral, and standards manual.

ASSIGNMENTAs a final assignment we were asked to brand the new
Cumulus design event so they had about 17 ideas to choose from. Cumulus Association organizes a design conference each year at a different school in a different country. This year's name was "Borderline — Pushing design over the limit" and was organized by our school. The assignment consisted of a complete branding exercise: logo(type), stationery, bag, pen, branding guidelines, and an extra item.

ASSIGNMENTThe task for the entire semester was to redesign an already existing brand/logo accompanied with a complete identity standards manual. We split into groups of four and were assigned an institution. My group was given high culture entertainment. And as a group we decided to do the Adler Planetarium in Chicago, IL. We researched together and then split off to do our own design.

ASSIGNMENTThe entire semester was devoted to researching a dying brand, and coming up with a new logo redesign and style/brand guide. We were to expand on what the original brand sold, and try to think on how this new branding could encompass products/ideas/lifestyles not addressed in the original branding. Here is the course description: The goal of this course is to visually and verbally understand identity and branding as it relates to a variety of businesses and their organizational structures. Students will investigate what defines the personality, identity and substance of these businesses through the creation and execution of brand and identity programs.
