Roberto de Vicq de Cumptich is overweight, due to the research part of the design and branding of restaurants. That’s the bad news. The good news is he is currently principal of his own design firm in NYC specializing in publications, restaurant design and branding. He received his MFA from Pratt Institute and recently graduated from Type@Cooper. He is also the author of several books featuring his own work. His most recent book "To All Men of Letters and People of Substance", was selected as one of the AIGA’s 50 best books of 2008. He has received numerous awards from the Art Directors Club, AIGA, D&AD, Communication Arts, Eye, Graphis, How, Print, Type Directors Club and two Webby Awards. In 2014, Roberto was a judge for Communication Arts Typography Annual and the chairman of the TDC Type Competition of 2015. He is the current Vice President of the Type Directors Club.
