Part of the #BNConfDoesGood initiative.

Allyson Lack is the Creative Director and founder of Houston-based branding firm, Principle.

At Principle, she leads a multi-disciplinary team with an emphasis on developing verbal and visual brand identities, systems, and experiences for clients such as the Houston Zoo, Goode Company Restaurants, Hotel Amparo, Brighter Bites, Thompson + Hanson and The University of Texas.

Before forming Principle in 2005, Ally ran her own one-woman studio where she made a name for herself with exceptional work for museums, educational and cultural institutions like Maryland Institute College of Art and The Walters Art Museum. With meaningful stints at Houston’s Rigsby Design and later Rutka Weadock in Baltimore as lead designer, Ally served both Fortune 100 clients and tiny boarding schools alike, while cultivating her particular skills in typography and production.

Ally graduated with a business degree in Marketing from the University of Maryland, but soon thereafter, with design as her true calling, headed to Atlanta to attend graduate school at Portfolio Center. She has juried design shows for CA and The Art Directors Club and her work has been featured in Communication Arts, Print, AIGA 365, HOW Design and the New York Type Directors Club. In addition, Ally serves on the Advisory Board for AIGA/Houston.
