When statistical reports seem to go out of their way to be dry and dull, it is refreshing to see what good design can do to change that. This heavily info-graphic report on the creative industry of Philadelphia is clean, precise, and informative. The charts and graphs are well labeled and color coded, making large quantities of information easily assimilable. Judging by what I have seen of the report, it seems as though the creative industry of Philadelphia is going to remain sunny.

When Moira Baylson from the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy (OOACE) contacted us to design the new Creative Vitality Index report, we saw an excellent opportunity to make the important information in the report easy to understand and pleasing to look at for the thousands of artists in the city. The report is full of info graphics that clearly illustrate the fact that creativity is crucial to the cultural and economic development of Philadelphia.
