The g(love) exhibit featured mismatched pairs of gloves plucked from the streets of New York. Cards were made to promote the exhibit and feature the gloves from the exhibit. But what is an art exhibit without a bit of alcohol? For this, a special batch of brews called Better Half was made with custom labels silkscreen printed on the bottles themselves. They feature a slightly dark, but still humorous, illustration of a horse that has had the misfortune of being halved down the middle.

The whole feel of the show was kind of a darker take on Valentine’s Day, but with a sense of humor to it. The Gloves formed these odd pairs. The “ghost glove” image that we used to promote the show was a hint at the tone. After naming the ale Better Half, I developed the concept to again hit on that slightly sinister humor. The guys at the brewery enjoyed filling the bottles. The halved horse was “nothing they’d ever seen before.”
