This project started because we had some space left on the last signature of the FPO Awards Book (which is coming soon!). It was a 18-by-12-inch spot. Big enough for a small print, which was our initial instinct, but the paper wasn’t thick enough to be a print. So we decided on a wrapping paper. After designing it and printing out the 18-by-12-inch sheet we thought it was too small to wrap anything bigger than a book or DVD, so we added one more “signature” to the job and ended up with a bigger size of 18 by 26, good enough for larger gifts.

The idea is to create a Twitter-activating wrapping paper based on the hash tags #WhatIWishIGot, the hope when receiving a gift, and #WhatIGot, the reality that sets in after opening it. The wrapping paper is printed double-sided so the outside is a prelude to the inside.

The wrapping paper is available for purchase here

This was a super straightforward print job, so there are no hard-earned lessons other than always ask your printer if there is any space left on the sheet, you might be able to squeeze in a business card.
