Unlike many of its “gift-that-keeps-giving” counterparts, this holiday card not only doesn’t give you anything, its recycled paper and one-color printing say, “it’s ok, you can get rid of me, i don’t expect you to keep me around.” Refreshing.

As we’ve done in the past, we took the money we would have spent on expensive holiday gifts and redistributed it to charities. The idea of the card this year was to pair six common holiday gifts with six charities. We calculated how many of those gifts would equal the donation we made to each charity. The result was humorous gift/charity pairings and copy like “We donated the monetary equivalent of 7 deluxe fruit cakes to Amnesty International.” To redirect as much money as possible we kept the production costs to a minimum by printing only one color on kraft paper. Sourcing your own paper and trimming it for the printer saves a lot of money, but takes a REALLY long time.
